Jeff Bezos's rocket company could race SpaceX to the moon.

Which billionaire space company will reach the moon first: SpaceX or Blue Origin? SpaceX appears to have an advantage with the upcoming launch of Starship’s third test flight. In September 2026, a modified version of Starship is planned to transport NASA astronauts to the moon. On the other hand, Blue Origin has not yet launched anything into orbit, but aims to land a smaller cargo lander on the moon by the end of next year. The lander will serve as a test for technologies used in a larger version that will carry astronauts. Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket will support the lander’s launch. Despite SpaceX’s head start, Blue Origin might still secure the title of being the first to reach the moon.
